Tallying up the body count

Looking at the school newspaper from my first year, I see eleven first year teachers. Six years later, I am the only one left. Two others are still in the district, although one has become a floating sub. Happy faces look up from that paper, long gone. Some quit, some were obliged to leave.

Eduhonesty: In a district always desperate for help, that attrition rate is ridiculous. Does the left hand know what the right hand is doing? Worse, I wonder if the fact that I am still in my district indicates I’m not as smart as the average bear. Maybe those guys knew something I didn’t.
